This is the end of day two in Palawan — if you missed how we got here, we spent the afternoon exploring Roxas and visiting family. Uncle Henry offered us his beach house resort for the night, and I wanted to show you what he has going on out here before dinner.

The Main House

This is the main house at the resort — two stories, wooden, with a porch and a balcony that looks straight out at the water.

This room right here with the sliding door — that’s where me and Abby’s brother stayed on my last trip. Same sliding door. Same view. The beach is right there, the water’s right there. It was raining a little and the power was out — blackout — but honestly, who needs electricity when you’ve got that.

The Front Yard

The property sits right on the water. Coconut palms, tropical plants, and then the beach. It was the start of rainy season so it was overcast, but the setting is hard to beat. This is Henalrics Resort in Caramay, Roxas, Palawan, Philippines — not a big commercial operation, just a family property on the water that Uncle Henry has built up over the years. Worth a visit if you’re ever in the area.

The Cottage

The cottage is where we were spending the night. Faces east — which means sunrise over the water if the weather cooperated.

It’s cozy: one room, a small kitchen with a fridge, table, and sink, plus a bathroom. Nothing fancy. You fall asleep hearing the waves and wake up to the same sound. That’s the whole pitch.

It was rainy season and I could hear thunder in the distance, so the sunrise was a long shot. Still — I wasn’t complaining.

Lechon Night

I didn’t film dinner.

They roasted a whole pig — lechon, the centerpiece of any serious Filipino gathering — and we ate and hung out with family. I just didn’t want to be behind a camera for it.

A lot of the people who raised me are gone now. The ones who are still here — I just wanted to be with them. That’s it.

More from Palawan coming soon.
